Is The Food Good?

The food isn't just good, it's great.
Matmonim is working with Eli Barashi, a gourmet chef and caterer.
Eli is also the mashgiach and Manager of Food Services at a well known Orthodox Jewish High School in Northern New Jersey. Eli is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.

d Matmonim is owned and operated by Orthodox Jews. Our program is designed for Jewish teens. Camp groups are divided based on age. The program offers Glatt Kosher food, strict Shabbat observance and daily minyanim, three times a day. All campers are expected to observe Shabbat, kashrut and basic mitzvot as well as the Matmonim dress code. On Friday and Shabbat afternoons a shiur is held for all campers. Shiurim focus is on parashat hashavuah, connecting our ancient history to current events.

d Acceptance to Matmonim is based on an interview and references. We reserve the right to accept or reject any candidate based on our discretion. Matmonim has specific rules and policies, partially outlined in a handbook, which all participants must agree to adhere to before being accepted into the program. We reserve the right to remove any participant from the program who does not adhere to these policies. Drinking, smoking and/or illegal drugs have no place on Matmonim; neither does improper conduct between boys and girls.
